Hey everyone

Happy Monday and yes finally, I am back to posting outfits again!

After suffering a fierce seven-week flu, I am back and more energized than ever. It feels so good to be back on track as I have tons and tons of new looks lined up for you all. I seriously can't wait to start sharing Spring outfits. Yes, only one month to go and winter is officially over. I kept thinking it would never end!  Talking about Spring,  I just checked out the Spring collection at Zara and I am head over heels with it. Of course, I couldn't resist grabbing something great. I mean does anyone ever leave Zara empty handed? I don't so, I ended up picking up a classic studded biker jacket. I love the details and bold zippers. Details are important you guys. I thought it would look absolutely perfect with this fun "Be Happy" sweater that I received from: She knows Her Style. It matches my mood like no other and screams fabulous positivity.

Yes, I am happy, happy, so happy to be back!

A Few Favorite Bags

February 8, 2015

 Hey everyone

A bag is just another bag, right? Hell no! In my opinion, my bags are my babies. Small little creatures that need love and care and our continuous admiration. What is it with women and their bags? Well, the answer is simple. I think bags are to women, what cars are to men. Take away our bags, and we might start a nuclear war. I am not even kidding.

Over the years, I have collected quite a few beautiful and one of a kind pieces. So in this post  I wanted to share a few favorites that I just keep grabbing from my closet on a daily basis. Some are designer while some are picked up at a local street fair. To me, it doesn't really matter. Good quality is key and so is a fabulous design. A pretty bag completes any plain ole outfit right?

Which one is your favorite?

The Five Week Flu

February 5, 2015

Hey everyone

I have not posted in over a week and the only reason I haven't, is the fact that I have been dealing with a flu that just won't go away. The drama started at Christmas after I shot my holiday outfit for the blog. It went away around New Years Eve but came back full force a few days later. Up until my birthday January 19, I was sick as a puppy. When I finally went out to celebrate and shoot, I got sick again up until now! All in all I have been dealing with this flu monster for 5 weeks. I am getting restless, hopeless and I am ready to rip my hair out. Every time I think I am okay and sneak out for a quick trip to the grocery store it all comes back again.

I have heard on the news there has been an epidemic of the American flu. American? Yeah, American!  A new virus from the United states that spread to Europe (where I live) that even the latest flu shot couldn't stop. I am dealing with all its symptoms including fever, headaches, a dry cough, muscle aches and being extremely tired. It is a very fierce virus and known to take forever to get better. Not to sound too down on you guys, but I have never been this sick from a flu in my whole life LOL.

Now with this flu taking so long, I was wondering if I had a hand in it for this thing to go not away. Am I doing anything wrong and sabotaging my own recovery? I get so restless and after these long weeks breaking out in cold sweats almost every few hours, I noticed what is definitely not a good idea to do when you are down with the chills.

Here are five tips on what NOT to do when you have the flu:

1. Don't try to look too cute when you do have to go out. Even if it is just for a few minutes. For example: Do not wear a mini skirt with sheer tights thinking you will be okay! It is freezing outside with temps below zero so, NO you will not be okay! Looking like snowman covered in thick boots and fur hats with greasy hair, not trying to look too fashionable is totally okay at a moment like this.

2. Don't get drunk and dance all night on your birthday. Even when you think you feel a little better! I did that and I am still paying the price. A flu is not a common cold, and it can take weeks to get better and for your body to function at it's peeking again. Take the time to fullly recover.

3. Don't try to attempt an early Spring cleaning in your home! The only thing you should be doing is lie in bed and watch Netflix. I get very restless when I am sick because I am a control freak and want to stay productive no matter the circumstances. No no, no!  Stick to your bed because it will only delay your recovery.

4. Don't eat too much sugar and junk food. I fell into this trap and felt the difference immediately, feeling even more tired from the so-called sugar crash after consuming it. Sugar raises your blood sugar levels very quickly making you feel energetic at first but making you feel even more tired when your blood sugar levels drop after a few hours.  I usually hardly eat any sugar. But when sick I love to reach for anything sweet. So instead of binging on cupcakes and jellybeans, opt for green smoothies and lots of tea with fresh ginger, lemon and honey or grab raw chocolate sweetened with stevia or dates. I just started on my green smoothies two days ago. So I am counting on a fast recovery from now LOL

5. Don't talk too much on the phone!  Yes, it is very tempting to chat and giggle on the phone all day because you finally have the time to catch up with friends and family you haven't spoken to in ages but no! I noticed every time I put down the phone I felt even more exhausted, and my fever would come back with a vengeance! Like I said before it is better to stick to watching TV and reading a great book.

Pantone's Marsala Favorites

January 22, 2015

Marsala Pantone Color of the year 2015,

 Hey everyone

Last month PANTONE announced the color Marsala as the color of the year for 2015!  A naturaly robust and earthy wine red. While PANTONE'S "Radiant Orchid", the captivating 2014 color of the year, encouraged creativity and innovation, Marsala enriches our mind, body and soul, exuding confidence and stability," said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute.

"Much like the fortified wine that gives Marsala its name, this tasteful hue embodies the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal, while its grounding red-brown roots emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness. This hearty, yet stylish tone is universally appealing and translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings and interiors."

HOW TO - Pose For Street Style Photos Part 1

January 14, 2015

DSC_1401 supertrash Dahlia dress,H&M over the knee paris collection boots

Hey everyone

I am so sorry for my lack of posts this past week, but I've been down with a nasty flu for over a week now, keeping me stuck in bed with a throbbing fever and even a worse mood.  Oh how I hate not being able to be productive, especially when it comes down to my blog and my sweetest readers LOL. As you can imagine I haven't been able to shoot any outfits so I thought it would be fun to share a few tips on how to pose for street style photos. In this three part series, I will tell you all about this subject over the next few weeks. So stay tuned on this subject!

As you may know, I had done quite a bit of modelling when I was younger, so I was armed with some experience when I started this blog almost three years ago. I do have to add that I never really liked modeling too much and have always been more interested in singing and dance which ultimately became my job when I moved to Los Angeles quite a few years ago.

When I started this blog I wanted it to look editorial, so I started playing with a lot of different poses and faces in front of the camera until I found my signature moves for my outfit photos.

I think posing in front of a camera has much to do with acting. You are mostly pretending to be in some kind of mood. For my photos on this blog that mood depends on an outfit, I am wearing that day. For example, when I wear a fierce looking outfit I try to put a lot of attitude in my face and poses. When an outfit is dainty and very feminine I put on a cute and smiley face and transfer that to the way I am posing as well.

Modelling for photos is a way of communicating with the lens without saying any words. Over the last three years, I have become better at this but don't get me wrong I am still learning every day and in some of my photos I think I look like a complete idiot. Of course these photos are never published and deleted quickly, but that aside. Posing is all about lots of confidence. Looking relaxed is key, even if you don't feel that way, or when you are grumpy or passers-by stare and whistle at you. Of course, I am getting to know what poses look best with a particular outfit and know what faces to pull to look my best. Meaning that it has become so much easier over time and being able to pose on auto pilot.  Hopefully some of my experience can be of some help to you when taking any type of photos.

So let's start!
